Prayer yesterday morning was one of the most authentic experiences I've had in awhile.

We did this freestyle sharing-and-prayer session where we'd listen to
God for awhile, and people would speak up about what they felt God was
speaking into their hearts and we'd pray with that, and start all over
again. Folks were speaking up & praying through issues of
community, fear of calling brothers and sisters out, the desire to
speak up in lectures and classes and hearts that were stuck in the
mire. And the crazy thing is that God was working in us gradually as
each person shared and another would pray, and then someone else would
jump in and share and prayer would naturally flow from that and so on...

So organic, so real, so freeing. THanks God.
started crying for the broken and lost and oppressed of the world.
Half-sobs, salt-blister tears and only what can be described as cries
to a One who promised to be powerful and mighty and just. I wrote them
down (I hope they don't mind) because they were frightening, they were
foreign and so beautifully and earnestly not-about-themselves (I know
there's the perfect word for this floating around out there).

They were weeping because they had been there, watched
kids cling to their legs, witnessed unjust factory conditions, heard
village women whisper stories of genocide, read statistics about the
6000 kids contracting malaria daily, a continent dying of AIDS, a
single man loitering by People's Park or huddled under the pillar of
the Unit 3 parking garage.

Is the burden too much for their God, is their God doing nothing? Their hearts hunger to be broken again and again like His is.

I wrote down their prayers and tried to mouth them myself. They trickle
out of my throat but never make it to my heart. Man, I still don't know
what it means to have my heart break for anything. It's a tricky little
guilty feeling, I decide, and tell God to do it anyways, break my heart
unequivocally for something or someone other than myself.

At that moment all I know is this pounding desire to know God's heart
so much to be weeping His salty tears on a Saturday morning.

-Andrew (2/4/2006)
Wednesday, November 16, 2005

[rekindle]
so after Cal Prayer Furnace 48 hours and Fall Conference everything
just SLOWED down. or at least to me. there wasn't a webpage to refresh
anymore and see slots be filled up. the chiming of that doorbell in the
prayer room ceased to echo my my head. there were only lingerings of
God's presence here and there. in fact those 48 hours seem like a whole
different world away. these last few weeks have definitely been about
personal prayer and trying to find God in my own time with Him.. that's
really hard for me!

Praises from 48 hours of prayer!
a girl named Audrey accepted Christ! long story short Jihai was walking
to go pray at the prayer furnace but she felt like God wanted her to go
back.. she decided to heed God's leading and she runs into an old dorm
mate! and that led into a spiritual conversation.. which led to a lunch
date which led to a new sister in Christ!
people are hungry after God! but will we obey God's voice and have the faith to engage in spiritual conversations?

dorm talks up the hizzouse in U1-U2-U3- CKC- U4! please pray for them!

and lastly there is a possible 24/7 hours of prayer
happening the end of this month until December. would you consider
praying for vision, direction, planning and just trusting in God
through all this?

lets keep praying for God to move on this campus.

so I guess I was wrong. God is still moving... you just have to ask him to reveal it to you!
Lord,
may we give ourselves and you no rest until your kingdom comes on Earth
onto this campus
God I beseech you I beg you do not turn your face from this campus
Do not let the pile wall of mud cover and engulf this campus
Let your presence rain down and sweep it away
God I feel like you are moving
the lingers and effects of last week's 247 (Cal Invitational) prayer can be felt in this place

There's a cry in my heart for your mercy to fall for your presence to overwhelm our senses
TAKE US BEYOND
God I'm readng about what you can do your power as long as people ask in faith through prayer
If we ask and bug you like the persistent widow you CANNOT NOT move in this place.
Even the unrighteous judge answered the widow
I know there are so many forces so many evils so much binding strongholds on this campus
Go Away.
Go away perfection, go away insecurity, go away sucess, go away striving, go away materialism, go away.

Come Lord Jesus come.
Father reading Red Moon Rising gives me hope
If you can change drug addicts you can change Berkeley

God are you calling for a 247 prayer room on this campus for all the fellowships?
For this campus body to unite under prayer?
Father, if so make it exceedingly clear and have EVERYTHING FALL INTO PLACE
So i can't deny that it's really your plan your movement.

He has established the works of our hands for us. Yes, He has established the works of our hands.

So 24 hour or 48 hour prayer for interfellowship is going to go on
before InterPRAYse. Lets pray that it happens! and that God's hand will
move mightily throught all fellowships. . And that it'll be a continual
thing.. let's pray that personal revival will happen. aiite?

Because clearly, God has established it. He has planned it. And He has
used Becky to speak the word into us, Matt the UIC leader to feel
convicted.. and everything to fall into place.

So lets keep the fire burning and live in such a way that it own't stop.

NEw Student Outreach 2005 was one crazy experience. I felt like God
really taught us about faith, His abundance, prayer, serving through
rest/sabbath/abiding, and unity.

There were a lot of things up in the air during welcome week. Places
and times for our events- New Student Reception and BBQ. The lack of
tabling for calapalooza. Leaders that haven't come back yet. Just a lot
of things that we weren't too sure about.

But as we prayed for these things God reminded us that His
blessings overflow and are abundant. We should pray for BIG things
because our God is a BIG God.

We prayed to get 145 Dwinelle and He gave us 155 Dwinelle--- why do we
limit God with seats? When NSR happened 155 Dwinelle was more than 2/3
full-- we wouldn't have been able to fit in 145! and on top of that NSR
was super good! Praise God.

We prayed for a spot at Calapalooza. We didn't get one. But God showed
us on Thursday that He will give us tons of signups without
Calapalooza! Praise God.

Dorm outreach was off the hook this year. Dorm leaders are hardcore
with their hanging out with freshmen every night! Putting on runs to
get gelato, U3 BBQ, U4 dinner, and playing smash brothers in CKC. God
has really given a spirit of compassion and boldness to you guys.
Praise God.

All of the African American theme floor minus two went to the the Black World Tour! and there was enough cars! Praise God.

A lot of us were super tired--- Welcome Week was draining and even a
sabbath didn't suffice. We prayed about intimacy and love. Intimacy and
love with God leads to serving. We are lovers not servers. Without
abiding and spending time with our Abba how will we find purpose
and direction for what we are doing? We want to be a fellowship who
KNOWS God and LOVES God and isn't about events and putting on a good
show. We wanted to keep it real.

After 2 24 hour prayers, a prayer walk, and 9-11pm prayer times we were
pretty prayered out but truly we saw that prayer works and God answers
them. Ministry reaps the work done in prayer beforehand.

Unity. A few glimpses of unity of the body at Cal that I saw this week:
the IV banner tied to the NAvigator's table; andrew hao, greg, tim low
and chrispark talking in the middle of sproul; campus stealing an IV
balloon and crossing out IV and putting "campus crusade for Christ" =)
; people chatting after the intefellowship prayer walk, the
interfellowship prayer walk; and the ABSK pastor saying that he was
rooting for us while we were tabling in front of crossroads dining
commons.

And really this is just the beginning.

One of the highlights
was walking in at a freakin early hour of the morning and seeing four
or five of you guys worshipping in the prayer room. Dannnng.

One thing I have to keep reminding myself is that I can't make God obey
the performance ratio. Like, I keep thinking that the more I pray, the
more chance it has of becoming reality. I think in actuality, the more
we pray, the closer we get to God's heart and the better we hear his
voice.

One more 24hr period before NSO begins Thursday at 6PM! see yall there.
